Karlene on the Bible That Gives Us Purpose

Mrs. Clark’s 7th Grade Bible Class Discusses:

One Among Many

The Just-Another-Great-Book Myth

The One Among Many myth talks about how the Bible is just like all other great books in history, like Shakespeare, the Iliad, and the Odyssey.
They couldn’t be more wrong.
The Bible is not just another “great book.”
It’s the greatest, the only book that could ever tell us all we need to know on how to live forever.
It tells fact, not fiction, and an even greater story than all other books.

It’s the only book that can let you understand why we’re here, and what our purpose is.

And, after being written by many people over a course of a thousand years, it makes sense. No other book will ever compare to it, which makes it the greatest one of all.

Karlene, age 13

The people who wrote the Bible were from many different backgrounds, and they might not have even known about the Bible before they were writing it.

Know what you believe…and why you believe it.

Don’t Check Your Brains at the Door gives teens answers that make sense, even for the toughest of questions:
  • Does it really matter what you believe, as long as you have faith?
  • Are there errors in the Bible?
  • Was Jesus just a good teacher?
  • Can anyone prove His resurrection?
  • What does that have to do with me?
Using clarity and humor Josh McDowell and co-author Bob Hostetler expose common myths about God, the Bible, religion, and life to show how Christianity stands up to the test of fact and reason.
With these solid evidences teens will be better understand the faith they live and know what they believe and why.
