Fathers Are Like Keys

Happy Father’s Day!

When you think about a key, what image comes to mind?

Opening a secret door or a secure lock for all your valuables?
But imagine your father like a set of keys.  Each one has a unique size and shape, and unique objective.  Some have been through tough times and are worn down, and some are new and shiny.
But just like a key, your father has a special purpose in your life.  He is the one that opens the doors to knowledge and understanding.  He unlocks the treasure to your heart and instills a special love for God and country.

Fathers are like keys because each one is made for a unique responsibility and demonstrates a level of trust and security.   Have you ever tried to use the wrong key in a door or in your car?  Or lost a key?  What a frustration, but when the right key is used or the lost key is found, there is celebration and peace.
Fathers are like keys when imparting God’s way of forming healthy relationships, and speaking the truth in love.  They provide spiritual insight into marital happiness and model an example of faith, and confidence.
So imagine your dad like a set of keys.  What kind of doors has he opened for you? What are their unique purposes?  Is God’s way on one of those keys?
Our only key to enter eternal life is through Jesus Christ, our Heavenly Father.  He provided us a perfect example to follow, and said, “I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no one comes to the Father but through me.”  John 14:6
This is the ultimate treasure – the mystery of all the ages.
Do you have your Key?
Because when it is opened… you will be filled with wonder.
