The Myths and Legends Myth
This myth is saying that the miracles that were written in the Bible were just made up stories or myths or folklore. Well, all those miracles really happened.
People think that walking on water or raising someone from the dead is impossible and it can’t happen. They think they can’t trust the Bible and the people who wrote about those miracles.
People think Jesus was just a teacher from Galilee and they think Jesus raising from the grave didn’t happen at all.
THAT is the myth.
What these people fail to understand is that a lot of people saw these as they happened. These miracles were witnessed by so many people. These miracles weren’t just written down — there is evidence they happened.
Not all of them are even in the New Testament–think of the Red Sea and the Israelites crossing the sea in the Old Testament and the Egyptian army chasing them into the Red Sea and the sea crashing down on them.
There’s evidence because archeologists have found chariot wheels and spears down at the bottom of the Red Sea. [Archaeological evidence] proves that [Biblical] miracles are real and they can happen.
All these people that don’t believe these miracles happened and are saying they’re a myth: well, THAT’S a myth.

The Myths and Legends Myth states that much of the Bible is not in fact, fact, but fiction. Even some Bible scholars have come to believe this. This Myth is not true.
The authors of the New Testament intended to have their works read not as fiction, but as a valid part of history. Recording some of the miracles could have gotten them killed.
Take, for example, the Lazarus rising from the dead.
His story could have gotten him killed, which could be one of the reasons why it was only recorded in the book of John, the last of the Gospels to be written. But it shows that Lazarus was willing to risk his life to share how Jesus had raised him.
No one would freely give up their life so a piece of fiction could be written down and shared. The Myths and Legends Myth is yet another illogical story meant to disprove pure fact.
